Update: Our third week of prompts for children in Gaza

We are almost finished with decisions on submissions – answers to subs imminent, but in the meantime, we wanted to remind you of a campaign here at MODRON to support medical aid for children in Gaza. For the duration of NaNoWriMo, we will be posting a writing prompt every day and in doing so, we are hoping to encourage our community to donate to charities providing medical aid to children in desperate need in this unprecedented crisis.

In week 1 of November, we posted a moving poem by peace campaigner and a president of PEN Cymru Menna Elfyn: ‘Eto Fyth yn Gaza’ / ‘Gauze in Gaza’ as well as thoughtful writing prompts by Abeer AmeerSara Abou RashedPolly AtkinKathryn Bevis, and Helen Bowell.

Week 2 saw prompts by Zoe BrigleyJude BrigleyZakia Carpenter-HallRachael ClyneJane BurnSian Melangell Dafydd and Jeremy Dixon.

This week – week 3 – included prompts by Cath Drake, Mari Ellis Dunning, Rhian Edwards, Glyn Edwards with a poem by Zaffar Kunial, Menna Elfyn, Robert Hamberger, and today Angela Graham.

Please see the list of suggested charities at the end of the post. A new prompt will be posted until at least the end of November. Thanks for donating what you can.

Sending you our best from the MODRON team!

P.S. We recommend UNICEF’s Appeal for Children in Gaza, but other charities include:

Medical Aid for Palestinians

Palestine Children’s Relief Fund

The World Food Programme

Doctors Without Borders
